You might remember Boo & Skie, our seasoned Tech Sup’paw’t interns, who joined FortiTech and quickly established themselves as valuable members of the team. You can recap their early training here , here and here. And here are their cute now almost 6 year old selves:
Well… it looks like they’ve gone and dipped their paws into HR roles and recruited some new talent.
We’re pleased to announce the newest addition to the FortiTech Tech Sup’paw’t team - Lucy, a 6-month-old tabby who has recently joined the ranks as our latest intern.
Onboarding & Training
Lucy has officially begun her training under the watchful eyes of Boo & Skie, who have taken their mentoring roles very seriously.
Skie has been overseeing Lucy’s introduction to hardware, mainly identifying which cables are most fun to chew.
Boo has been leading soft skills training, including how to stare at a screen with purpose and walk confidently across keyboards during critical tasks.
Early
reports suggest Lucy is picking things up quickly… although there have been a few teething issues (mostly involving actual teeth).
Like her mentors before her, Lucy is currently working on mastering the fundamentals:
- Differentiating between a mouse and a “mouse”
- Understanding that CAT6 cables are not, in fact, made of cats
- Determining the optimal nap-to-productivity ratio (a core FortiTech KPI)
Recent Medical Leave (and a Fashion Statement)
Lucy recently took a short, medically approved leave of absence following a routine vet visit.
She has since returned to work sporting a very stylish, petal-soft cone, which we’ve been assured is both protective and flattering.
While the cone has slightly impacted her peripheral vision and ability to fit into smaller boxes, it has not dampened her enthusiasm for learning or keeping up with Boo & Skie.
Performance So Far
Despite still being early in her internship, Lucy has already demonstrated:
- Strong curiosity (particularly in areas marked “do not touch”)
- Excellent teamwork (frequently assisting Boo & Skie with their naps)
- A proactive approach to problem-solving (sitting directly on keyboards to prevent further user error)
Tasks requiring opposable thumbs remain a challenge across the team, but as always, creative use of paws (and occasional teeth) continues to deliver results.
Workplace Culture
Lucy has settled into FortiTech life very well.
Like Boo & Skie, she has embraced our flexible work arrangements, including:
- Remote work (from literally anywhere in the house)
- Flexible hours (primarily overnight zoomies)
- Structured rest breaks (morning nap, late morning nap, early afternoon nap…)
It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.
What’s Next?
Lucy will continue her onboarding over the coming months as she builds her skills alongside Boo & Skie, who are now firmly established as senior members of the Tech Sup’paw’t team.
We look forward to sharing more updates as she progresses through her internship… and works out how to log a support ticket without stepping on the keyboard mid-sentence.
In the meantime, please join us in welcoming Lucy to the team.
We have no doubt she’ll make a paw’sitive impact.
