April 2020 Newsletter

We have made it to the end of April already, and boy what a journey this last month has been. The effects of the COVID-19 restrictions have meant that the majority of our clients now have staff working remotely from home which has created quite a unique situation with varying ways of staff connecting to the office, from remote VPN's and VoIP apps to literally needing to pickup their entire work PC and take it home, the latter resulting in a quick how-to guide on how to connect your work desktop, which you can find here.

Next in our series of free policy and guides to help businesses take the first steps in their cyber security journey's is our 32-page guide on Securing Microsoft 365 (formally Office 365). We have already had a number of businesses approach us after having their Microsoft 365 tenancy breached and, in some cases, they have lost over $100,000 through fraudulent transactions. We cannot stress enough how important it is to ensure your technology is secure.

And in case you missed it last month, you can still access our free Pandemic Action Plan template. The template provides practicable steps to mitigate risk and protect both workers and clients during the current COVID-19 environment.

A few people working from home right now might be experiencing the same issues our client did by solely working from a laptop. You can find out how we helped them be more productive through the installation of a docking station and monitors in our Client Install blog.

In between officially acknowledging his Geek status David also found time to host a webinar educating members of the College of Law's Centre for Legal Innovation on Passwords and Multifactor Authentication. With 31% of data breach victims later have their identity stolen securing your login credentials is critical.

We hope you enjoy this month's round-up. If you are interested in finding out how we can help you, just give us a call on 1300 778 078.
