Moving office can be a stressful time—but not when you’ve got the right IT partner by your side. We recently completed another successful relocation for one of our long-term clients, ensuring their technology was ready to go the moment their team walked into the new Brisbane office.

This is actually the second time we’ve helped this client with a full office relocation, having first supported their move back in 2022 with a new office setup. With even more staff and tech in play this time around, they trusted us again to make the process smooth, efficient, and hassle-free.

The Requirements

With more staff and equipment now in place, the brief was simple:

• Relocate and reconnect 30 computers, 55 monitors, and 30 VoIP phones
  
• Setup of all networking equipment including:
  • 4 x TP-Link Omada switches
  • TP-Link OC200 Controller
  • A WatchGuard Firewall
    
  • APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
  • 3CX Server for controlling the phone handsets
• Setup of all business printers including:
  • HP Multifunction Centre
  • Oki Laser Multifunction Centre
  • Canon Inkjet Printer

In addition to moving their current equipment we were also tasked with setting up the following:

• Installation of 4 Wi-Fi access points with maximum coverage
  
• Patching and testing of all office data points
  
• Rolling out a new NAS solution synced with Microsoft SharePoint for faster access for the Brisbane team and better collaboration with their team in the Philippines
  

And to top it off—we had just 3 days over the long weekend to get it all done. Here is how we did it:

The Move

We managed the pack-down, secure transport, and full reinstallation of the client’s workstations, phones, and printers.  Each desk was packed down into its own heavy duty moving crate and all monitors were wrapped in moving blankets ready to make their way to the new space.

We made sure to have everything packed before the furniture removalists were due to arrive at the old office for their part of the move being the desks, chairs etc. Once the removalists had done their part in both the old and new offices we then set about the re-install of the computers at the new office , this minimised the impact of working around the movers while they were onsite and the risk of any potential damage to the equipment.  

Once safely at the new office each piece of tech was carefully cabled, connected, and tested to ensure smooth operation from day one.

The Expansion 

This wasn't just an office relocation, we also installed four high-performance TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 wireless access points to make use of their super fast 400/400Mbps internet connection and allow them to connect their TV, laptops and phones for connectivity throughout every nook and cranny of their office.

We worked closely with the client’s ISP to oversee the internet installation timeline, ensuring the service was activated right when needed.

Once live, we patched and tested all data points and configured the network infrastructure—switches, patch panels, phones, and all required routing to support the office’s 3CX phone and cloud-based systems.

We also deployed a new NAS solution for the Brisbane team. This device is integrated with Microsoft SharePoint, allowing seamless collaboration with their colleagues in the Philippines who continue to work from SharePoint Online.

We'll share more about this setup in an upcoming blog, but for now, the team is already enjoying faster file access and improved sync across locations.

Outcome

With a tight timeframe of just 3 days over a long weekend ready for the team to start fresh on their first day back.

Our client was once again impressed with how smoothly everything came together. They appreciated the fact that they didn’t have to worry about a thing when it came to their technology, allowing them to focus on the rest of the move.

Their Brisbane team are already enjoying the faster performance, better Wi-Fi, and improved collaboration tools.
