The phones are running hot here at FortiTech with enquiries for VoIP increasing.

We have completed four installs over the last month including both onsite and hosted IP-PBX options.

Two of our latest installs have been systems with users in multiple offices, one client has 7 sites around Australia while another has 2 in Oz, 1 in US and 1 in NZ – we’re going global!

3CX is our provider of choice for IP-PBX, it has great functionality and allows us to utilise the existing VoIP handsets (where compatible) for the installs, so far, we have had a mix of Cisco, Yealink and Polycom handsets. If the existing handsets haven’t been compatible, then we have supplied new Yealink’s for fantastic audio quality and the X7 Enterprise Series has an easy function touchscreen, though our most popular handset with our clients is theX7C, which has the same functionality without the touchscreen and comes with a more afforable pricetag.

We have been receiving positive feedback about the systems including one client who loves the web conferencing functionality as it has saved them money on their previous GoToMeeting subscription.

Another great thing about 3CX is that we have been able to integrate clients Office 365 for contacts and as well as one legal firm’s custom integration with Actionstep.

We have even included custom voice scripts and on hold music for a few of our clients which has helped give their business a more professional feel. Holiday and office closure recordings have been our most popular recently with the Easter/ANZAC period.

And what if you have staff out on the road or you’re heading overseas for a conference? No problem, there is also a 3CX app that you can install on your mobile which allows you to take and make calls on your desk number - as long as you have internet you are good to go – trust us, we had one of our technicians take an urgent all on the app whilst is France last year.

Our last system install was for 12 x new Yealink T46S handsets for staff, a Sennheiser SP30 Bluetooth wireless speakerphone for the conference room, professional voice messages, logos on their phones and all setup, configuration and porting in their existing numbers. With the system on a 36 month plan the costs for  8 lines with unlimited national\local\mobile calls, 3CX licence and hosting in the cloud with monthly system maintenance and user changes along with all the hardware and installation was $750+GST and includes $40 of international calls free each month.
